For families
Hi, I’m Dr. Ankita — a board-certified pediatric dentist serving Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. I care for children from birth through age 18, and I have specialized expertise in treating children with special healthcare needs.

Why me
What sets me apart is my commitment to making every child feel safe, seen, and comfortable in the dental chair. I take the time to build trust with my patients and their families, and I use gentle, evidence-based techniques tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Whether it’s your child’s first visit or they need more complex treatment, my goal is to make dental care a positive experience — one that sets the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Everything I provide
Children with special healthcare needs come to me for all of this, and so does every other child I treat.

See all pediatric dental services, including nitrous oxide, dental emergencies and orthodontic referrals.
My specialty
I specialize in making dental care accessible and comfortable for children with complex medical and developmental needs.
Children from birth to 18, including children with autism and with other complex medical and developmental needs. I see children for everyday dental care as well as for care that takes more time and planning. A great many of my referrals from colleagues are exactly these cases, and it’s one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
I make each visit work for the particular child in front of me, using behavior guidance that suits them and explaining every step before it happens. We have quiet rooms for children who do better in a calmer space, and our staff are trained to support these children and their families. When you call, tell us what calms your child, what upsets them, and any diagnoses or medications, and we’ll plan around it.
For cleanings and treatment I can use nitrous oxide, a mild sedative your child breathes through a small nose mask to help them relax.

We had a wonderful experience at this pediatric dental office! Dr. Ankita and her assistant Ms. Joanne were incredibly kind and patient with my son, who is usually very sensitive to dental work. They took the time to explain everything to him in a gentle and reassuring way, which helped ease his anxiety.
The front staff was also amazing—so kind and helpful in getting us in for an emergency visit right before our family vacation. We are truly grateful for their care and professionalism. Highly recommend this office for any family looking for compassionate and thorough pediatric dental care!
