What I provide
Starting out
The first dental visit by age one, what happens when you arrive, and how to get a baby or toddler ready for it.
Everyday care
Exams, cleanings, digital x-rays, fluoride varnish, sealants, and help with thumb-sucking and pacifier habits.
Treating cavities
Tooth-colored fillings, stainless steel and zirconia crowns, silver diamine fluoride, pulp treatment, extractions and space maintainers.
My specialty
Care for children with autism and with other complex medical and developmental needs — the care colleagues refer to me for.
Comfort
A mild sedative that helps a child relax during cleanings and treatment, while they stay awake and able to respond.
Urgent
Swelling, abscesses, broken teeth and dental injuries — including an on-call dentist at nights and weekends.
Also: orthodontic referrals · behavior guidance for dental anxiety · minor oral surgery. For the plans we accept and new patients, see insurance. Call the office and ask — if it’s something I don’t provide, I’ll tell you who does.
Who I see
I’m a board-certified pediatric dentist, and I see children from birth to 18 at three offices in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. Most of my days are ordinary pediatric dentistry: a cleaning, a first visit, a filling, a worried parent and a child who isn’t sure about any of it.
Caring for children with special healthcare needs is my specialty — it’s what other dentists and physicians refer to me for — but it isn’t the limit of my practice. Whatever brings your child in, the approach is the same: explain it first, take the time it takes, and make the visit one they’ll come back to.

Today was our first visit, and my twins and I had a wonderful experience. The office was very clean and professional. Our hygienist, McKenzie, and Dr. Ankita were both fantastic! We look forward to coming back.
Dr. Ankita is absolutely wonderful. The dental technicians are top tier. And the receptionists are amazing!! This whole facility and their dental team have been fast, kind, informative and overall, extraordinary! They have handled my children's dental care for over 5 years and I'd never recommend another place. Bring your children here, you won't be disappointed! I give 10/5 stars!

Yes. I care for every child, whatever their needs. Caring for children with special healthcare needs is my specialty, not the limit of my practice.
I don’t place braces myself. When a child needs orthodontic care I refer to an orthodontist I know and trust, and I stay involved through their treatment.
